How I beat the Heat & Kept Hydrated in Extreme Conditions!
It just so happens that at the time of writing this article it happens to be a scorching 37 degree day outside and might I say, not much different inside. Funny how these things happen.
And yes as I sit at my office computer with no air-conditioning, I am being tested yet again for my survival skills and how far my body can go to deal with extreme conditions.And yes I am working up a good sweat as if I have gone for a run without even leaving my desk! Who would have thought sitting at a computer could have been the equivalent of an extreme sport! Lol.
As I sip on my Electrosport drink I am reminded once again what an absolute lifesaver it is at times like these! And amazingly, I am still able to function like a normal productive human being - and not just crash in some corner, useless to the world, or hang around a shopping centre all day long, just to keep cool!
I thank goodness that I am able to cope with the heat so much better - I am not even feeling depleted or irritable and my mind is still fully alert and focused on the job. In fact I feel surprisingly good for such a hot day and the water I drink doesn’t just go straight out again if you know what I mean! This tells me it is actually being absorbed. That’s the power of proper hydration and mineral balance for you!
Plus I am one of those people who often tend to feel dehydrated and have a tendency towards dry skin, no matter how much water I drink - so this is the best food for my thirsty skin too!
I could go in the desert with this stuff and still be ok in the heat and not end up with heat stroke - and I have! When I stayed in Las Vegas on the way back from a conference, it was the hottest weather I have ever experienced, yet we walked around outside in the searing heat for many hours touring the different theme park hotels - essentially a giant Disneyland for adults. (but that's a different story!)
It felt like about 50 degrees in the shade. And if not for my electrosport in my bottle, I can’t even imagine how I would have coped.
My golden rule is, I know I need electrosport whenever I am doing enough activity or hot enough to work up a good sweat. And it makes an enormous difference to my energy levels so I wouldn’t go without it- I say add it to the survival kit! And on hot days don’t leave home without it!!
